From 13 to 15 March 2026 Gabrovo will host PORT▲L, a festival of interactive light art that transforms the urban environment into an experience. Expect 3D mapping, light interventions and installations that are not only viewed but also managed – the audience is an active part of what is happening. Admission is free.

„PORT▲L в Габрово – 3D мапинг върху фасада в центъра на града“

What to expect

The festival program includes 16 installations by over 20 artists from several countries, spread across 9 locations in the city. Some of the projects will be outdoors, others will be in indoor spaces suitable for daytime visits.

Highlights include:

  • 3D mapping on facades and key urban spaces
  • Interactive installations with which visitors interact
  • Light theatre in Renaissance Square
  • Projects at locations such as the Ossuary, the Assumption Church, the Clock Tower and the Aprilov High School (with an immersive 270-degree projection)

International 3D Mapping Competition

PORT▲L includes an international 3D mapping competition, whose projections will be broadcast every evening on the facade of the Orlovets Sports Hall. After the first festival night, an expert jury will award the best project.

Day visits and a “museum” of digital art

During the festival, the Emanuil Manolov House of Culture will become a kind of “museum” of digital and light art that can also be viewed during the day – an ideal option for families and visitors who prefer a more relaxed pace.

Useful tips for visitors

  • Plan to walk between locations – the installations are located in various locations around the city.
  • For the most popular screenings, it’s a good idea to arrive early.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothes for evening walks.

Organisation

PORT▲L is an initiative of Elektrick.me, realized in partnership with the Municipality of Gabrovo and with the financial support of the National Culture Fund.
