Mitko Palauzov

My name is Mitko Palauzov. I was born on November 8, 1930, in the village of Enev Rut, Sevlievo District, and later my family settled in Gabrovo. My parents, Ganka and Trifon Palauzov, worked as factory workers and were active in the communist movement. In 1943, together with my mother, I joined the Gabrovo-Sevlievo partisan detachment and became the youngest participant in the partisan movement in Bulgaria during World War II. The circumstances surrounding my participation and the role of my family are still the subject of various interpretations to this day. I died at the age of 13 on Osenikova Meadow, but my memory lives on.
