“Bozhentsi Village – Dryanovo Monastery” Nature Trail

The hiking trail from the village of Bozhentsi to the Dryanovo Monastery connects two historical and cultural centers in the Gabrovo region. The eco-trail begins at the parking lot in the village of Bozhentsi, heading toward the “Bozhentsite Relax” hotel; from there, the trail ascends along the marked path to the Lovna Cheshma spring, located above the village of Sabotkovtsi, continues through the Bochukovska Meadow and the village of Gorni Varpishta, and descends past the Boruna Fortress to the Bacho Kiro Cave and the Dryanovo Monastery.

From the village of Bozhentsi, the eco-trail connects with other hiking routes to Gabrovo, Tryavna, and the Sechen Kamak area. Along the eco-trail to the Hunting Fountain, a rest area with a table and benches has been set up halfway along the route. There is also a second rest area, located 1 hour from the village of Bozhentsi; there is no water there. The first water source—a catchment with a small spout below it—is about 1.30 minutes from the village of Bozhentsi. It is important to note that during periods of drought, the Lovna Fountain runs dry. The fountain in the village of Gorni Varpishta is located one hour from Bacho Kiro Cave.

The route is of moderate difficulty and is suitable for hiking and biking. It does not require special equipment and is suitable for children.
