Ivanilski Waterfall Nature Trail

Ivanilovski Waterfall is located about 9 km from Gabrovo, in the vicinity of the small hamlets (mahali) of Solari and Ivanili. The waterfall is about 10 meters high and forms a very beautiful cascade, with a lovely, heart-shaped pool about 5 meters deep at its base. The rock face of the waterfall is covered in soft moss that resembles a natural green carpet. The waterfall is situated on a small stream that, in places, forms large rocky islands, and after about 300 meters, it flows into the Yantra River. The walk to the waterfall is easy and pleasant along a dirt road, and a small path leads directly to the waterfall. There are also beautiful small cascades both upstream and downstream along the river.

After entering the village of Solari on the main road, just before a sharp, shaded turn with a bridge over the ravine, there is a turnoff to the right with signposts; follow this path slightly downhill to reach the start of the nature trail. The route is marked with red-and-white tape and directional arrows, and there are rest areas set up in some places. About 20 minutes from the start, the trail enters a small forest. At the end of the dirt road—which is right after the woods, where the “Forest Restaurant” is located—take a left onto a narrow path; after a short descent, the waterfall comes into view. The entire walk to the waterfall takes about 25 minutes. The return trip, though slightly uphill, takes about the same amount of time. The trail is easy and pleasant to walk on all year round. It is suitable for children and people without prior training. No special equipment is required.
